I have gotten a few emails from people wondering why they have arrived here when they were attempting to get to 7pounds.net.  I am not a squatter or anything like that, I actually own both of the domains and have for sometime now.  I recently decided to put an end to 7pounds since I wasn’t really keeping it updated.  Its much to hard to maintain multiple sites.  Anyways this will be the new home for it for a while, or until I decide that it needs to be on its own again.

So I am trying to get some more traffic to the site.  In that attempt I have parked a few of my other sites here in hopes that this site will pick up and take over where the others left off.  Time will only tell I suppose, and what better time to make the change then at the end of the month.

I was starting to think that my site was getting little to no attention.  I hoped that if I were to update it to the new version of Wordpress it would spur my interest again … but yet all it has done is create 3-4 new posts all talking about an upgrade.  Not exactly what I call good times in the world of blogging.
After hearing Chase talk about his new fairly new Xbox setup with XBoxMediaCenter installed I was wanting to get an XBox and do the same.  And I think the stars might be aligned just right or something as Brian and I were talking the other day and he actually just picked up an XBox and is looking to sell it, even has the DVD remote which is a plus.  So after talking with him I was going to go to Vegas and get it this weekend, but I had forgotten this was the same weekend Alexis was coming to visit me for her spring break.  I have made other plans on getting the XBox though so I should have it Monday afternoon if all goes as planned.  From there I am planning on installing a new hard drive in it (120 gig) and installing XBoxMediaCenter, this will replace my MythTV Box that I recently created.  I have no plans on getting rid of the MythTV box but instead I am going to turn that into a Fileserver/Backend/Desktop and just stream all recordings to the XBox.  I am creating a new category on the site here for the XBox and will be posting updates to how the install goes and everything that I do to it.

Well looks like the upgrade worked … well there does seem to be an issue with the rich text editor… I guess I will fix that at some point.  I also plan on doing daily updates again, we will see how that goes.

Well here goes nothing, disabling all plugins and installing Wordpress 2.1

Well today was my court date, had to get up at 6am so I could make the long haul over the mountains and into the desert… I am hoping it all went well, but I wont know until the Judge mails me the verdict. If it ends up being bad I think I might need to setup a voyeur site in hopes to make money… though I really doubt anyone would pay to see that.
On with the weekend, I think that after I do a little more reading into Wordpress 2.1 I will make the jump. I mainly have to double check that the plugins I use actually work with 2.1. From what I have read so far most of them will and the others that dont, well I dont use them much anyways. I do need to make a new theme for the site when I make the upgrade as this one is just not cutting it anymore. NewZen was pretty nice until every blogger decided to start running it. Lets just see how lazy I am this weekend, you will know come Monday.
