πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Disappointed in the US

On the morning after the votes across the US were cast.

Waking up this morning and quickly reaching for my phone, hoping to see anything other than news about Donald Trump being even remotely in the leads, was the last thing I had hoped to see, let alone news of him winning based on the number of electoral votes he had accumulated overnight.

I honestly don't know how we got to a point where he even had a slim chance of winning and how so many states that I would have figured would have written him off ended up being a neck-and-neck race to the finish, with him taking the lead. It will be something that I and many other Americans will be pondering over the next days, weeks, months, and years, to be honest.

This is truly a sad day for the people of the United States, but I will remain optimistic that it won't be as bad as we expect. I hope this won't be as bad as we assume and that the United States won't run into the ground socially and economically and drift backward in time to the point that ends up taking us decades to repair.

By the way, the rest of the world is laughing at us, but if you voted for Trump, you likely are not concerned about that... though you also should know you look ridiculous in your MAGA hat, too.
