Google Chrome and editing extensions

I was recently looking into editing an installed extension but was not seeing any easy way to do so from within Chrome. After a bit of searching I came across the directory where Chrome stores its extensions.

/Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/Extensions/

Once you have opened up this folder you will see a whole slew of directories that make little to no sense.

In order to figure out which directory contains the extension you are looking for you need to enable developer mode in Chrome’s extension manager.

Once enabled you will see the ID for each extension which is the actual directory name. Now that you have that you can navigate to the appropriate directory and edit the extension to your liking.
