Coachella 2012

Welp back to the whole taking a year and a half to post about an event that occurred a week ago… So last weekend I went to Coachella, attempted to go to weekend one but due to crazy ticket sales and such ended up at Weekend 2. Overall it was a great time though I do wish that I had been able to better prepare for camping but was stuck with some extra tickets that didn’t get sold till the last minute which kind of added a bit more stress than I wanted. Also trying to sell them at the last minute left little time to plan a sweet camping setup with all the bells and whistles.

Camping in 100+ degree heat is really not as fun as people might lead you to believe, most of the day was spent cowering in the shade trying to avoid mother nature while staying hydrated.

Here are some of the bands that I specifically went to see or watched with friends while I was there (In no particular order): The Black Keys, At the Drive-In, Refused, Radiohead, Bon Iver, Manchester Orchestra, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Eminem, 50 CentTupac, Beirut, Gotye, Justice

If I end up attending next time I think there are a few things I will do differently ranging from trying to go to weekend 1 (or however they work it out) since there should be better weather, to maybe even just getting and RV or the complete cop out and get a hotel.

Quail Creek camping

This weekend Kat and I are heading to Quail Creek State Park in Utah for a little camping Saturday night which I hope will be a nice chill relaxing time away from Vegas.  While I really wanted to do something more for this weekend before her birthday it seemed like a lot of plans were up in the air so it was a tad hard to really figure out a real nice get away.  So I guess this little camping experience will have to be a precursor to a weekend in the near future where I can really take her away for something a bit more excited and hopefully more relaxing.  Either way as I have said it before and will say it time and time again I am excited to take a small trip as we always end up having a great time no matter what we do or where we end up…. I am just glad this time we wont be heading to Brian Head as that was more than enough of an adventure to last me a lonnnnng time.
