I thought that I would take a minute to sit back and write about the whole trip to HostingCon 2006 in Las Vegas. The drive to Vegas began at 8am on a Sunday, I got there by 11:15am. It was a very hot drive, the Worlds Biggest Thermometer claimed it to be 120 degrees out. After getting to Vegas I just dinked around and got situated for Monday morning. Out of the many pointless trips I have made to Vegas this was not one of them. All in all HostingCon wasn’t as great as I thought it was going to be, but then again I have never been to something like it so maybe I was just expecting more. The exhibit hall was pretty impressive… well most of it was anyways. I got a ton of free Pens, shirts and some other odds and ends. Liquid Web, Microsoft and Modernbill seemed to have the best booths there, the others were just so so. Anyways I learned a lot about SEO/PPC which was my main goal for going. I also learned a lot about Google and how their search engine does the rankings which was pretty interesting. They take a lot of different things into account that I never would have thought of checking. Besides HostingCon I got to hang out with Brian and his Girlfriend which was cool. One of the nights we ended up at the Palms, saw Robert Duvall and ended up in a hotel party on the 26th Floor of the Palms. Was a sweet view and a nice room, Lil John was even at the party hanging out. The night didn’t end there, but it did end when I was escorted out of the strip club. Gotta love Vegas. On the last night I was there I found a Sony DSC N-1 Camera at a club. Its pretty slick, I can say its better than any other camera I have ever owned.

Since its making a new temp file for some reason it sets off Little Snitch, which is quite annoying. By entering the following … Read More
