Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Dunes

The state of Michigan is slowly opening back up and Traverse City is one of the cities in the state that is moving forward with fewer restrictions, so we decided to make a weekend out of it as we were all getting a little stir crazy and needed a change of scenery.

We ended up getting a room at the Park Place Hotel right downtown which allowed us to keep the truck parked and walk around the town. It was really strange being able to eat out again while sitting on a patio. They have areas taped off to allow for social distancing while being seated, but either way it was weird to be back in the real world.

While we were up there we took a drive over to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, climbed to the top and then ran back down trying not to fall.

We were told about another nearby hike which ended up having a spectacular view, and some really old machinery along the trail.

During one of our walks, while in search of feed I stumbled upon a Shelby Mustang, the owner was there and kind enough to talk to me about it a bit as well as snapping a picture.

As for the 100 days of blogging challenge, I did end up missing posts during the weekend as I simply didn’t have any time to sit down and write, still going strong though!
