🖥️ My new monitor… well, soon to be.

Its something that I had my eye on for sometime now…

The LG 45GR75DC-B Ultragear Curved Gaming Monitor has been in my Amazon cart for months, and I have been waiting for the price to drop to something acceptable. Well, this Black Friday 2024, the price finally reached something I could stomach. Some additional product shots can be found at the bottom of this post.

The upgrade hits a couple of points I hoped to make from an upgrade.

  • More screen space, obvious, I suppose
  • Picture by Picture - Allows me to have two inputs at once
  • I can now hand down my current display

When working from home, I usually plug my MacBook Air into the display while my work laptop (Microsoft Surface Pro) sits on a stand beside it. Using Synergy, I can share the keyboard and mouse between both devices. I use the same setup when working in the office, except the Surface becomes the host, and the MacBook becomes the client, so I reversed the home setup.

This will allow me to have a single display encompassing both computers without having different screen sizes to adjust back and forth on. I have included some of the posted product specs in the gallery below (More for my future reference so I don't have to hunt this down if removed from their site)

It will also free up the current LG 34-inch Ultrawide screen for Cole, who wants a gaming PC. I need the old Plex server to be used as the computer. After this, he should be all good to go… well, outside of looking into a GPU upgrade at some point.

While I am still waiting for this to arrive, hoping for sometime next week, I hope it is manageable on my desk. Based on another 45in LG, I looked at the other week at the local Best Buy, and it is okay with my setup.
